This policy explains what Sans Software LLC ("we", "us") collects when you use Cutzo on iPhone or the web and the cutzo.app website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and how you sign in (an email code or Google).
- Your videos: the recordings you upload or record in the app, the transcripts we make from them, any teleprompter scripts you write, and the edits and finished videos we produce.
- Billing details: your plan, trial and subscription status. Card details are collected and stored by Stripe, not by us.
- Usage and device data: pages and screens you visit, your device and browser type, app version, approximate country, push notification token and crash reports.
- Ad measurement data: if you arrive from an ad, the click identifier and campaign tags in the link, and the Meta and TikTok cookies on our web pages.
How we use it
- To transcribe your videos, decide which parts to cut, pick a cover frame, render the finished video and show it back to you.
- To run your account, count edits against your plan and process payments.
- To send sign-in codes, notifications you ask for, such as when a video is ready, and replies to support requests.
- To understand how people use Cutzo, find and fix bugs, prevent abuse and keep the service secure.
- To measure which ads bring people to Cutzo. We share that a sign-up or purchase happened, with hashed contact details, so ad platforms can count it. We do not share your videos or transcripts with them.
Your videos stay private
Your videos, transcripts and scripts are only visible to you. We do not sell them, share them for advertising, or publish them anywhere. We do not use them to train AI models, and the AI providers below process them under terms that do not allow training on them.
Who processes your data
We use these vendors to run Cutzo. Each one gets only what it needs to do its job:
- ElevenLabs, to turn the audio of your videos into a word-by-word transcript.
- Google (Gemini), to decide which lines and words to keep and to pick a cover frame from a low-resolution copy of your video. Google also provides Google sign-in.
- Anthropic (Claude), as a backup for edit decisions and to write scripts and post captions you ask for.
- Stripe, to process payments and manage subscriptions.
- Railway, to run our servers and database.
- Cloudflare, to store your videos and finished edits and to route our email.
- Vercel, to host our website and web app.
- Resend, to send sign-in codes and account emails.
- Sentry, to report errors and crashes.
- Expo, to deliver push notifications on iPhone.
- Meta and TikTok, to measure our ads, as described above.
Product analytics are processed by Station, our own analytics service. We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for purposes other than those listed here, except when the law requires it or to protect our rights and users.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use a cookie to keep you signed in and local storage to remember your preferences and where you came from. Our web pages also load the Meta and TikTok pixels, which set their own cookies to measure ads. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; signing in needs the session cookie.
How long we keep it
We keep your videos, transcripts and account data for as long as your account is open. You can delete a video at any time. When you delete your account, we delete your videos, transcripts and account data from our systems. Copies in backups are removed on their normal cycle. We keep billing records for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Security
Videos are stored privately and served only through links that expire. Data travels over encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise that your data will never be accessed without permission, but we work to prevent it and will tell you if a breach affects you.
Your choices and rights
- You can delete individual videos from the app.
- You can delete your account from Settings in the app.
- You can ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing support@cutzo.app. We answer within 30 days.
- You can turn off notifications in the app or in your device settings.
- Depending on where you live, including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and California, you may have further rights, such as objecting to or restricting some processing, data portability, and opting out of sharing for advertising. Email us to use any of them. We will not treat you differently for doing so.
International transfers
We are based in the United States and our vendors process data in the United States and other countries. When we transfer data from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the safeguards the law provides, such as standard contractual clauses.
Age
Cutzo is for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you think a minor has given us their data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date above and let you know in the app or by email.
